Iggy Offed Dion: No Revisionism Dionistas SVP

There so many incidents, the latest when Iggy "mistakenly" contradicted Leader in La Presse in last two weeks of campaign. Begs question: fool or scoundrel? But frankly, it got so bad that Rob Silver, who usually tried to portray unity, ended up joking about it bitterly in back on October 17 2007 in Macleans:

The US and Russia treat international law much like certain unnamed Quebec Liberal MPs treats Stephane Dion's leadership. In public, they say all the right things: "International law has my full confidence", "I am solidly behind this treaty", heck, I hear at a recent UN meeting, a bunch of US diplomats led the entire assembly in chants of "Tous Ensemble". Unfortunately, in reality, we all know that their support of international law is complete and utter BS. They do absolutely everything in their power to ignore and undermine it. They bad mouth it constantly behind the scenes and try to make sure that international law is considered "not hot" each Saturday morning by reporters who are only too happy to print their off-the record garbage. It is ultimately what is in their own narrow self-interest that matters and at the first opportunity, they will replace international law with a different system.

When Denis Smith asked him how he could have held and promoted all these wrong-headed positions given all the facts that contradicted him, ‘Natieff responded with the sophism that this was “misplaced specificity”. Ha ha, funny - not so much. I’m sure Maher Arar is still laughing.

Again and again, he has shown he’s got terrible judgement because he can’t grasp basic realities. He must never be leader of the Liberal Party, let alone PM, although since he'd be the worst leader of any major party ever, including Audrey McLaughlin, and destroy the party, it's highly improbable he'd ever be PM. Given his past positions and his demeanor, can you imagine how the NDP, Greens & Bloc relish the thought of him? And the Harper Cons can't wait to talk about the UCC boy who left the country for 30 years to swan about at Oxbridge & Harvard cocktails. Instead of Tim's vs. Starbucks it'd be Tim's vs. High Tea at the Empress Hotel.

I know some of we Liberals like to flock to perceived silver-spoon blue-blazer "winners", but Turner & Martin didn't turn out great. If you're thinking of supporting this torture-justifying, Bush wars-supporting airhead, please think again, on electoral grounds. Any other Liberal candidate, of Rae, Leblanc & maybe Cauchon, would do a better job, not just on policy, but politically as well. If you're thinking 'Natieff, please, think twice.
