Credit Where It's Due

I think Bob Rae has been outstanding, nay the best, by far, throughout these last days and I fully endorse this analysis. That said, credit where it's due to Iggy. My views of his candidacy haven't changed but I'm glad he's shown some sense (I'm trying very hard not say "for once"): "Mr. Karygiannis has engaged in action that it seems to me is -- I hesitate to, I choose my words carefully -- extremely disappointing. And his characterization of what happened in caucus is entirely wrong, entirely wrong. Let me make that entirely clear. This caucus is 76 men and women striving to be worthy of the hour. There isn't a person back there who isn't aware that we are facing the most serious political crisis, constitutional crisis, and economic crisis this country has faced since the 1930s. Every single one of us is aware of the seriousness of this. Every single one of us is trying to rise to the expectations which Canadians have of us. Mr Karygiannis' characterization of these discussions today is unworthy of the caucus to which he belongs. [...]

We have a leader and his name is Stephane Dion."

...right now we need Dion and then Bob to take over. We need someone with experience, leadership and judgment. And not someone like Iggy who has been missing since Monday (with the exception of a few minutes today when he was muzzled and guarded by McGuinty wathcing over him like a hawk so he does not do or say anything to protect his coveted lead---to himk who cares about the party, country, etc.

HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT IGGY HAS BEEN MUZZLED--YOU CANNOT PULL A "SARAH PALIN" IF YOU WANT TO BE PM!!!

Iggy is quoted as saying the following--and these are his words: "I BELIEVED IN AMERICA IN A WAY THAT CANADA NEVER ALLOWED."

You can go to http://www.granta.com/extracts/1643,issue 77 of Granta magazine, March 28, 2002.

...these quotes, from Iggy, who not only undermined Dion's leadership and campaign in Quebec during the election, but is now pulling tricks when DION IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE CAPTAIN CANADA. Today, we should all be proud of Dion, he deserves our respect, he has earned it (regardless of the video or his english--we do not make fun of people's English as Canadians!)

So, there you have it - Bob Rae is still an NDP in his thinking.

Bob Rae is using this for his own benefit.

Read the polls, and listen to other Liberal supporters who aren't on the blog or part of a leadership campaign - the REAL voters.

They want Dion out. And their opinion should count

...atleast he is not a coward like Ignatieff..first iggy, with leblanc and rae came out with his arms raised over his heads (according to many reporters),supporting Dion and the coalition...and now he is in hiding and being muzzled...not only is he an opportunist but if he cannot provide support for his party and leader at this critical time, how can he lead the country?

...after all, I am not surprised this is a man who expects to get parachuted into the PMO after 30 years abroad...just like iggy, never wants to get his hands dirty....not leadership, accoedign to most canadians during economic and constitutional crisis.

Do a google search on that idiot karygiannis. He has been a disgrace to the Liberal party since he was elected in 88. From his immigration consulting business (run out of his constit office), to his bully techniques in all leaderships, to his complete and utter ignorance on any matter that requires rational thought. Dion should do what lib M.P.'s have wanted for decades. Throw Karygiannis out of caucus for good.

We should all stick together, behind our duly elected leader, and our chosen course of action. Anything else and we lose all credibility and the chance to regain QC for a generation.
