Supposed Liberals have sold out all their principles for this? So to recap, we could have formed the government in January and responded to the recession as we saw fit, EI especially, if we'd stuck by Dion. Instead, Iggy staged a coup de parti because it was urgent we have a supposedly "more credible" leader in place for an election. No election in January. None now, after utterly contradicting ourselves on the urgency of EI reform & other measures to counter the current depths of the recession. And nothing doing till September. And does anyone really believe we're going to defeat the government in September, after a full summer of negative ads and positive government announcements? So there was, in fact, even by the most hallucinatory imaginings of Iggiots, not the slightest shadow of a smidgen of a reason to overthrow democracy within the Liberal Party so as to install a certified blue-ribbon conservative as leader. Not enough time for a proper convention? We could have EIGHT MONTHS, minimum, to respect the membership's democratic rights! Crikey. It's bad enough to say the ends justify the means, but under the Iggiots we've devolved to the point that we're telling ourselves the means justify the means. For bitter humour's sake, so as to put the party beyond satire, I really hope Manley is one of the blue-ribbon panelists, that really would be the cherry on top.
